FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How much does aviation recruitment cost in Ireland?

Propeller charges a single flat fee of 14.75% of gross annual salary, with no retainer. You pay only when a candidate starts. Most agencies in this sector charge 18% to 25%, often with an upfront retainer for senior roles.

What roles do you specialise in?

Licensed B1/B2 engineers, CAMO and airworthiness specialists, Part-145 maintenance and quality roles, technical records, safety and compliance, and ground operations and commercial roles across airlines, MROs, lessors, and aviation services companies.

Do you charge a retainer?

No. Every search is success-only. You pay the 14.75% fee on the candidate's start date, nothing before that.

What areas do you cover?

Ireland, UK, wider Europe, and Latin America, with most work concentrated in Ireland and the EASA regulatory zone.

How is Propeller different from a large recruitment agency?

Every search is run personally, not handed to a junior consultant. We're a specialist in ground-based aviation only, not a generalist agency with an aviation desk, and our pricing is public and flat, not negotiated per client.

What is a CAMO postholder search, and why is it different?

A CAMO postholder is a nominated, regulator-accepted role under EASA CAMO.A.305, responsible for continuing airworthiness management. These searches require candidates the Irish Aviation Authority or relevant regulator will accept into the role, not just a strong CV, so eligibility has to be checked before anyone is submitted

How quickly can you fill a role?

It depends on seniority and how specific the licence or approval requirement is. A straightforward technical records or compliance role can move in days. A postholder or senior CAMO search, where the qualified candidate pool is small and mostly passive, takes a bit longer, but we start sourcing within hours of a brief.

Is Propeller an approved supplier to any airlines?

Yes. Propeller is an IAG-Approved Supplier, meeting the compliance, screening, and data standards required by Aer Lingus and BA Euroflyer. We’re also placed candidates with ASL Airlines, Norwegian Airlines, 2EXCEL Ireland, Arajet, Bristow, Fly4 Airlines, Scandinavian Airlines, Stellaer 212, Mas Air etc

Do you place pilots or cabin crew?

No. Propeller places ground-based aviation roles only: maintenance and engineering, CAMO, Part-145, operations, compliance, safety, finance, and commercial. We don't recruit flight crew, and we'll point you to a specialist if that's what you need.

How do I start a search with Propeller?

Contact John directly to discuss the role, the salary band, and timeline. There's no cost to talk it through, and no commitment until you're ready to instruct a search. john@propellerrecruitment.ie
